Baby Bonding & PCAP

BabyBonding-Logo-RGB-Pos-WithStrapline.png

baby bonding is a very gentle and effective preventative and early help attachment programme for parents and their babies-in-waiting and babies. It can be delivered with groups, 1:1 or through a home-visiting model and is suitable from 28 weeks of pregnancy.

This flexible programme is based on the latest attachment research which shows that supporting the earliest parent-infant attachment relationship sets the scene for the best outcomes for children right into adulthood.  Pregnancy and the early months after birth represent a “window of opportunity” to share new knowledge with parents.

PCAP is a 10-step approach during which the practitioner shares three skills with the parent/carer and supports them as they transfer these skills back into the home-life environment.

What I love about this work is that it supports the parent/carer to become their own agent of change. It is an easy-to-follow and practical course that goes at the pace of the adult and helps them develop useful skills that can apply to everyday parenting.

Really brilliant course. Really helped with spending time, and giving time, consideration at home.

The course is suitable for individuals, couples and groups.

PCAP is a theory-driven and evidence-based.

This is a gentle play-based approach aimed at improving the attachment quality of the parent-child relationship using attachment mechanisms and child-oriented play with parents/carers and their children aged 3-15+ years. It represents an ideal opportunity to bring positive relationship change directly into the family home by empowering parents and carers as change agents.  PCAP practitioners work with the parent(s) or carer(s) and not directly with the child(ren)”
